You have RSVPed to the Ugly Christmas Sweater Party hosted by some of Chicago’s top blogs and independent online publishers, right?
Okay, good.
So now that you have made plans, you need an ugly Xmas sweater. Well, I have done the research and found the stores with some great ugly gems. Here are some places to shop:
ONLINE:
UglyChristmasSweaterParty.com is your one-stop online shop for everything ugly. From sweatshirts to vests to cardigans, they have your ugly butt covered. And, if you are locavore, these guys are perfect: they are based only 35 minutes from the Windy City.
BuyUglySweaters.com has ugly Christmas sweaters and free shipping. The selection is limited (8 sweaters), but the available sweaters are hideous.
AROUND CHICAGO:
Village Discount Outlet located at 2032 Milwaukee Ave. has a whole aisle dedicated to Holiday clothing on the left-hand side of the store. I bought my vest/long sleeve tee combo there and was pleasantly surprised at the collection. There were sequined cardis, patchwork sweatshirts, snowflake studded pants and, ugly help me, the best darn plaid-beaded-snowangels vest I have ever laid eyes on. Two words: Ugly heaven.
Ragstock has two convenient locations at 812 West Belmont Avenue and 1433 Milwaukee Avenue, and supplies sweaters for both women and men. Oh sure, they might be large, but they do the trick.
Hollywood Mirror at 812 W. Belmont not only has tacky Christmas sweaters, but tacky…everything. If you are feeling particularly dressy, they have some red 80s dresses on the back wall that can be paired with a classy (read: ugly) Christmas cardi.
The Salvation Army in Uptown at 4315 N. Broadway is sure to delight ugly shoppers with a wide selection of sweaters, but they are not nearly as jazzy or showy, but they are cheap and your $$ goes to a good cause.
Unique Thrift Store at 4445 N. Sheridan has a helpful staff and a boatload of worthy ugly holiday sweaters.
If I missed a good place to buy ugly Xmas sweaters, just let me know and I will post it here!
